GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Used Equipment Manager is responsible for selling used equipment, overseeing and managing all used equipment inventory and validating trade-in values to assist with the sales of new equipment. This position is also responsible for the financial performance of the used equipment line of business, including revenue, margins and inventory turns. You will connect with all other departments in determining reconditioning expenses for acquired equipment. This position will seek out relationships internally and externally to develop pathways to balance highest resale values, best possible trade in values and inventory turns. The Used Equipment Manager will also research and use databases to maximize accuracy of quotations and equipment flow. This position will be responsible for developing necessary used equipment sales marketing channels in North America and abroad to strengthen the development of new equipment sales, as well as measuring the effectiveness of marketing efforts and tools. This role will report into the VP North America.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a sales process for the acquisition and selling of used equipment
- Develop and execute a marketing plan to trade, broker and sell used equipment at the desired margins and turnover
- Set and manage the inventory and life cycle of all used equipment trade-ins
- Oversee used inventory specifics, pricing and other applicable information up to date in the business systems
- Research, compile and analyze market information regarding Manitou & Gehl against competitor used equipment values and trends
- Set expectations for information requested in the appraisal process
- Set & maintain the pricing guidelines for used equipment
- Participate in decisions that reflect on reductions in equipment refurbishment costs
- Participate in all business and/or department activities related to ensuring the positive customer experience
- Collaborate on adjustments to the residual values of financial products
- Develop and initiate training and marketing strategies to support sales team development in the appraisal process
- Launch, maintain and market the used equipment sales website
- Manage the inspection forms within the used equipment system
- Implement procedures for equipment presentation and quality that are up to Manitou Group standards
- Develop and promote the commercial rental offer of used equipment
- Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals and long-term objectives
- Foster a great work environment; encouraging accountability, open communication, teamwork and a commitment to serving the customers & dealers
- Align with the Service & Solution division stakeholders to ensure profitability of used equipment, both at our Global Headquarters and locally in the frame of the deployment of the global service offerings of Manitou Group
- Complete special projects as assigned
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years proven leadership and used/new equipment sales management experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or French a plus
- Proficient with either Microsoft Office and/or Google Suites
EXPERTISE:
- Demonstrated record of achievement and ongoing growth in responsibility
- Ability to plan and manage both strategic and operational levels
- Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners
- Substantial experience with a specific sales methodology, sales channel management and services
- Ability to develop a business culture in which teams are empowered and enabled
- Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills
- Ability to develop visionary and innovative solutions
- Proven strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business or related area required
SALARY RANGE:
- Base Salary Range between $104,000 - $143,000 per year, plus a potential annual bonus based on performance metrics
*Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location
LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:
- This position is located in West Bend, WI
- Travel up to 50%, mostly domestic with some international travel
