GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting directly to the Sourcing Supervisor.  This Intern position supports the various functions of Supply Chain and Procurement including Commodity Management, Sourcing activities, New Product Development, Project Management support, Value Add/Value Engineering, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Materials Data Management, and Supplier Quality.   Must have outstanding analytical, written/verbal communication skills and maintain a high level of professionalism.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with strategic sourcing, plant materials manager, buyers, VA/VE and supplier quality engineers to standardize best business practices and processes.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, supplier quality, and engineering on new product development activities to support projects, align design with our strategic supply base, and deliver products on time and at or below cost targets.
  • Identification of new suppliers; preparation and execution of RFQ and competitive bidding events; ensuring cost, quality, capacity, delivery, and capability requirements are sustainable.
  • Ability to analyze data; develop summary of findings and make business recommendations.
  • Update Master Data and management of Sourcing and Procurement related IFS fields and data sets.
  • Evaluate current spend and supplier data and identify improvement opportunities and new idea projects.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) Commodity & Project Manager activities to meet objectives and drive operational results.
  • Support Commodity Managers to identify new global supply sources, as well as, rationalizing and consolidating the existing supply base and commodity list. Ability to perform internet search for source of supply.
  • Develop, measure, and manage key supplier performance metrics.
  • Identify, initiate, and support Corporate Social Responsibility activities related to Supplier’s compliance.
  • Special projects as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Team player who can successfully interact/collaborate to drive projects forward and effectively communicate (verbal/written) to ensure positive results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, interpersonal skills (ability to work effectively with multiple departments, as well as, external stakeholders and suppliers)
  • Be inquisitive, demonstrate intellectual curiosity and not be afraid to ask questions.
  • Strong Attention to detail for Data accuracy.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work from multiple sources and demonstrate good organizational skills.

 

EXPERTISE:

  • Practical knowledge or familiarity of supply chain functionality and ability to assess/implement best business processes.
  • Must have demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in either Microsoft Business Suite and/or Google Work Space required and be able to do online research.
  • General understanding/experience and knowledge working with ERP systems; IFS experience beneficial.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.

  • Sourcing Analyst, Sourcing Supervisor, Commodity Managers, Material Managers, Buyers, Engineering, Sourcing Director
  • Suppliers

 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

  • This position is located in West Bend, WI.
  • Travel is not required.
