GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manitou Equipment America is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer. Working with the Electrical & Systems team, the Embedded Software Engineer will develop innovative solutions for off-highway machinery that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

As part of Manitou’s global family, the Embedded Software Engineer will work closely with their international colleagues at our France based Technology Competency Center to stay aligned with company-wide standards for software development as well as project management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for off-highway machines.
• Debug software issues and implement solutions to ensure the highest level of product quality.
• Participate in the tuning of software parameters to achieve desired machine behavior.
• Act as local representative of the embedded software team based in France.
• Report machine analysis to the French team.
• Participate in software conception meetings with the French team.
• Use collaborative tools to describe analysis, track updates and report progress.
• Start up and commission software on test benches and prototypes.
• Configure production tools.
• Assist the start-up of prototypes and first production machines.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve processes.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years minimum experience
• Areas of focus: off-highway equipment NPD, embedded software development/definition, system diagnostics, mechatronics.

EXPERTISE:

• Experience in embedded software development using C/C++
• Familiarity with Vector CANalyzer, MATLAB, Simulink.
• Experience leading technical meetings with internal and/or external representatives.
• Exposure to communication bus including CAN, LIN, Ethernet.
• Exposure to communication protocols J1939, CAN Open, and UDS.
• Electrical hardware knowledge.
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems, data analysis, and data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to evaluate risk and make timely decisions.

• Ability to work effectively with a remotely located embedded software team in France.
• Fluency in French is a plus but is not required.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

SALARY RANGE:

• Base Salary Range between $72,000 - $99,000 per year, plus a potential annual bonus based on performance metrics

                     *Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

• This position is located at our headquarters in West Bend, WI
• Travel up to 10%
