Warehouse Supervisor

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Warehouse Supervisor oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. Implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. Interfaces with the Logistics Supervisor, Purchasing / Planning department and Inventory Control Assistant to ensure materials and parts are on time and that any problems are solved in a timely manner. Acts as liaison between production and warehouse departments. Responsible for maintaining inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items. In addition, he is responsible for securing warehouse as well as supervising staff.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Accomplish warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, recommending compensation actions and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Ensure inventory transactions accuracy by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse in a timely manner; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to departments by putting away, transferring items and assuring quality of goods.
  • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
  • Supervise the inventory control and maintain inventory accuracy by insuring that the required daily counts are conducted by the cycler counter and monthly counts audits; reconciling variances; inputting data.
  • Keep warehouse equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions and daily inspections required by the company policies.
  • Manage, develop and maintain all 5-S requirement and activities.
  • Responsible to update the ERP system and Database as required.
  • In charge of the management and achievement or the KPI defined per upper management and corporate level.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees’ performance.
  • Approve all vacation/ leaves requests and ensures that all areas are adequately staffed at all times.
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Inform departments and upper management about parts delays or shortages that would impact the production delivery dates.
  • Accomplish warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
  • Identify areas of improvement and create/establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices (ISO)

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data
  • Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safety according to company protocol
  • Knowledge and experience in supervision and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and efficient time-management skills
  • Ability to deal with complexity
  • Physical stamina, able to work long hours and lift 50+ pounds

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in warehousing, supply chain is desired.
  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration is a plus
  • Proven management experience in a warehouse position
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages, MRP System and MS Office proficiency
