The Quality Leader will have ultimate responsibility to safeguard the quality function in the facility. Will do this by developing, planning, implementing and administering policies and activities to ensure compliance with standards, rules and regulations, and prevent warranty claims. The Quality Leader will also be responsible to ensuring continual quality improvement within the facility. The Quality Leader reports to the CEP Quality and CI Director with strong dotted line to the Plant Manager.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality system for the facility that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  2. Develop, plan and implementation of quality goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and audit systems for the facility (Internal and External).
  3. Set the direction of quality function by effectively leading cross-functional teams, analyzing root cause, developing corrective action programs, and employing formal problem solving methodologies.  Work with other departments leaders to ingrain these principles and methods throughout the organization.
  4. Establish methods and standards to monitor quality performance (KPI’s).  Work with plant staff to develop and implement standard work procedures and quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process.
  5. Identify KPI trends and establish strategies to drive continuous improvement within the facility
  6. Participate in new product reviews to help design quality into the product and processes.
  7. Collaborate & support Sourcing team to establish supply chain improvement plans, and controlled change management procedures.
  8. Establish a strong customer feedback mechanism using effective corrective action workflows.
  9. Participate in Customer Satisfaction Committee and actively bring quick resolution to any open items.
  10. Support, promote and implement Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  11. Develop, support and implement effective communication process and systems to keep organizational accountability.
  12. Work closely with all Manitou Operation sites globally to share Quality best practices.
  13. Hiring, supervision and development of technical staff.
