GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The IT Support Technician role is responsible for the effective installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of the organization's IT systems and end-user devices. This encompasses PCs, phones, printers, scanners, servers, and network infrastructure. Core to this function is ensuring the continuous availability, optimal performance of all IT services and providing excellent support to end-users.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for users and handle initial remote support requests, concentrating on delivering Level 1 assistance for common technical problems.
- Address high-frequency service requests such as resetting user passwords, unlocking accounts, and granting basic system access based on predefined authorization protocols.
- Install, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot IT equipment.
- Accurately and comprehensively log all user interactions, reported incidents, troubleshooting steps taken, and resolutions within the Easy Vista Ticketing System.
- Escalate unresolved, complex, or out-of-scope incidents and service requests to Level II/III technicians or specialized IT teams promptly, ensuring all relevant information is documented.
- Assist with IT components of employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up workstations, configuring accounts, retrieving equipment, and ensuring data security protocols are followed.
- Provide setup and troubleshooting support for audio-visual (AV) equipment in conference rooms.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors to support the overall function of the IT department.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in an IT help desk environment, technical support, or direct technology assistance is highly preferred. Relevant internships or focused technical coursework may be considered as a partial substitute for direct work experience.
EXPERTISE:
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of personal computer hardware components (desktops, laptops) and common peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors, docking stations).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems' configuration settings and common troubleshooting steps.
- Shows familiarity with the core applications within standard office productivity suites.
- Has a foundational awareness of basic networking concepts and can perform elementary connectivity troubleshooting for Wi-Fi and wired network connections.
- Demonstrates awareness of common mobile device operating systems and basic connectivity settings.
- Exhibits excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate technical information clearly and patiently to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions and adhere to established operational procedures.
- Certification in CompTIA ITF+ and/or Certification in ITIL Foundation preferred
EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of significant, relevant work experience and advanced technical certifications may be considered.

- Base Pay Range between $24 - $27 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

- This position is located onsite in Madison, SD
- Travel Requirements - there is minimal travel requirements but could have the potential opportunity to visit our other sites for training purposes
