POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources function at our Madison, South Dakota manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to plant leadership, providing expert guidance and support in all areas of HR, including employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a strong understanding of manufacturing environments and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaged workforce.   The role will manage a small site HR team.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with leadership teams to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. 
  • Proactively address employee concerns, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting open communication and employee engagement.
  • Implement and manage the performance appraisal and merit process.
  • Support employee career development and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide reports to management.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of human resource management experience

 

EXPERTISE:

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience managing HR and administrative personnel.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with all levels of the organization. 
  • High level of confidentiality required.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • PHR or SHRM Certification preferred

 

 

SALARY RANGE:

  • Base Salary Range between $88,000 - $121,000 per year, plus a potential annual bonus based on performance metrics

                     *Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location

 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

  • This position is located in Madison SD
  • Travel up to 10%
