GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsible for the accurate and timely fulfillment of packing product from the warehouse shelves, sorting items, and making sure all products on the order requests are ready to be packed. Warehouse packers are also responsible to ensure all products on the order request are free from damage, verified, counted and packaged for order shipment.

 

Available Shift:  Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

LTL Shipping Associate I

       ● Verify the quantity and product being packed is accurate

       ● Use RF handheld barcode scanner to process product while packaging

       ● Pack product to maximize box space to reduce shipping costs while maintaining

           packaging integrity

       ● Mark and label finished packages correctly to insure customer orders are free of

           potential shipping error

       ● Ensure quality control standards and practices are occurring (recording errors,

           inspect parts for damage, correct shortages, wrong parts, and using QC Forms)

       ● Meet and exceed daily productivity and quality standards

       ● Record daily productivity on progress control boards per lean philosophy

       ● Operates a standup reach truck and fork truck to move product from

           various locations

       ● Responsible to help maintain cleanliness and 5S standards at packing stations

       ● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as part of the job function while using safe lifting

           requirements

       ● Must be willing to be cross-trained in other areas in the warehouse as needed

       ● Must perform within the company safety program and polices

LTL Shipping Associate II

  • Independently monitor the dashboard for orders and prepare them for packing.

  • Ensure that parts are correctly scanned and packed in the appropriate boxes.

  • Accurately secure boxes to skids, paying attention to stability and protection during transit.

  • Use equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) effectively to move large items.

  • Handle complex packing situations, including large or fragile items.

  • Train or mentor Level I employees on packing processes and techniques.

  • Report any discrepancies or damage issues to supervisors.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

LTL Shipping Associate III

  • Lead LTL shipping operations, ensuring that all orders are packed and shipped according to company standards.

  • Monitor and oversee packing stations, ensuring that employees follow procedures and meet productivity targets.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex packing or shipping issues, including handling large, fragile, or special orders.

  • Ensure the accurate completion of shipping documentation and freight labels.

  • Maintain regular communication with freight carriers to schedule shipments and ensure timely delivery.

  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve safety in the shipping area.

  • Train and mentor Level I and II employees, providing feedback and guidance.

  • Ensure compliance with all LTL shipping regulations and safety standards.

 

EXPERIENCE:

LTL Shipping Associate I

  • 0-1 year of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.

  • Experience handling basic packaging materials and operating warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, conveyors).

  • Some familiarity with LTL shipping terminology and processes is a plus.

LTL Shipping Associate II

  • 2-4 years of experience in LTL shipping, warehouse, or logistics roles.

  • Experience with handling and packing larger, heavier items using appropriate equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor packing or shipment discrepancies.

LTL Shipping Associate III

  • 5+ years of experience in LTL shipping, warehouse operations, or logistics management.

  • Prior leadership experience in coordinating shipments, packing operations, or warehouse teams.

  • Experience with shipping documentation, including BOL (Bill of Lading), freight labels, and shipment tracking.

 

EXPERTISE

LTL Shipping Associate I

  • Basic understanding of shipping processes and LTL (less than truckload) logistics.

  • Familiarity with dashboard or order management systems for monitoring shipments.

  • Ability to follow packing procedures and select correct box sizes.

  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols while handling large parts and operating equipment.

LTL Shipping Associate II

  • Proficient in using shipping software and dashboards to monitor and process LTL shipments.

  • Solid understanding of box-sizing, packing, and securing techniques for LTL shipments.

  • Ability to handle complex orders, including large or heavy items.

  • Familiarity with freight documentation, labels, and shipping requirements.

LTL Shipping Associate III

  • In-depth knowledge of LTL shipping processes, packing methods, and shipping software.

  • Advanced problem-solving skills related to complex shipments, large items, and freight discrepancies.

  • Ability to lead, supervise, and mentor a team of shipping associates.

  • Expertise in coordinating with freight carriers and managing shipping schedules.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

 

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

  • Receiving/shipping associates and inventory control team

 

What does MANITOU Group offer? 

  • Base Pay starts at $19.00 per hour, plus a potential annual bonus based on performance metrics
    • Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location
