GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting directly to the International Trade Compliance and Logistics Manager, the Transportation & Logistics Internship position supports the various functions of the Logistics Department.  This includes but is not limited to, Trade Compliance, Operations, Freight audit/payment and Traffic.  Must have outstanding analytical, written, verbal communication skills and maintain a high level of professionalism.  

           

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Collect data and update department KPIs.

  • Help process paperwork and organize outbound and inbound shipments.

  • Track international and domestic shipments for internal requests from Sales, Purchasing, etc.

  • Support the development of department work instructions.

  • Support the department document retention policy.

  • Maintain effective verbal and written communications with departments throughout the organization in order to perform primary responsibilities.

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned.

  • Work with the Director of SIOP and Logistics as needed on projects.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of logistics, supply chain practices/procedures a plus.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, i.e., warehouse and assembly operations is a plus.

  • Analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate ability to exercise good judgment; must be self-motivated and have initiative.

  • Must be able to adapt to changing needs and positively promote organizational objectives. 

  • Team player who can successfully interact with internal and external organizations and effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a timely manner to ensure positive results.

  • Working knowledge of an ERP system is a plus.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Google suite and Excel a plus.
