General Accountability:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and eliminating defects/issues as they arise during the manufacturing process to ensure a consistent level of quality per all required company documentation and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works to reduce defects/issues per product line during the manufacturing process.

  • Works closely with Assembly, Weld and Paint to improve quality.

  • Communicates and works with Production about any issues that are found and the corrective action taken to address.

  • Uses data and root cause analysis tools (Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.) to drive corrective action.

  • Updates any necessary documentation (forms, databases, reports, etc.) as necessary to ensure corrective action is in place and implemented.

  • Trains employees as necessary and document training per the required company procedures.

  • Performs part inspection as necessary (i.e. receiving or in-process inspection).

  • Uses any necessary inspection tools as required to identify the root cause (i.e., calipers, etc.).

  • Manages the Problem Solving Process (PSP) program for all manufacturing areas (implement, assign, follow up, assist, audit, close).

  • Manages the Calibration program (identify, calibrate, label, record, monitor).

  • Gives technical feedback to the Quality Manager as necessary on issues and corrective action taken to address.

  • Assumes other duties as required by the Quality Manager.

  • Combination of office, warehouse, quality lab and shop floor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, vocational school training and/or three (3) years’ work experience in related fields.

Experience:

  • Working knowledge with precision measuring equipment and techniques.

  • ISO standard experience is a plus.

  • Previous inspection experience required.

Knowledges:

  • Must demonstrate computer literacy and basic PC skills.

  • Must be able to work independently with general guidance.

  • Technical background in assembly/manufacturing required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High integrity, professional communication and positive attitude required.

  • Compensation: Base hourly range: $20.63 to $34.38
