VISION AND KEY STAKES:
LAPAM (Latin America, Asia Pacific & Middle East – Africa) region within Manitou Group aims at improving working conditions, safety and performance across the whole region, while protecting people and their environment.
The purpose of this position is to transform the Quality function into a proactive intelligence hub for Operational Excellence; one that guarantees zero-defect delivery and leverages predictive analytics to eliminate field failures, foster a global culture of ‘Right First Time’ while concurrently embedding HSE leadership into every process to ensure our machines are manufactured with zero harm, operate with maximum user safety, and achieve the industry’s highest standards for environmental sustainability and reliability in the harshest global environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quality Planning, Supplier Quality Management, Fabrication Quality Management, Support assembly quality management, Supplier selection and development support, Planning, Customer Focus, Development of Quality Assurance Team, Aspect-Impact, On-site emergency, General awareness of QMS
- Ensuring Auditing of parts & product; Ensuring Customer complaint handling and actions towards Corrective and Preventive measures
- Ensuring Control of nonconforming product; Preventing occurrences of non-conformity; Analyzing line rejection and rework data for preventive action
- Ensuring effectiveness of corrective actions; Defining need for supplier up gradation and its improvement.
- Ensuring Bought out parts process verification / improvement Reviewing, approving and maintaining effectiveness of the procedures for the above activities
- Stopping the production, if necessary to correct quality problems. Identification of significant Environmental Aspects & evaluation Identification of measurable objectives of EMS & it’s trend.
- Ensure all products manufactured meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance
- Health & Safety Management : Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with statutory and OEM requirements. Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments (HIRA, JSA, SOPs). Ensure safe operation of machinery, equipment, and processes, including LOTO and permit-to-work systems. Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations. Maintain statutory registers, records, and timely regulatory reporting. Coordinate inspections and audits by regulatory bodies, customers, and certification agencies.
- Environmental Management: Monitor and control environmental aspects such as waste management, emissions, effluents, and resource consumption. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Drive environmental sustainability and ESG-related initiatives.
- Training & Awareness: Plan and conduct HSE training programs, safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions. Ensure contractors and visitors receive mandatory HSE orientation. Promote employee engagement in safety programs and committees.
- Contractor & Vendor Safety: Implement and monitor HSE requirements for contractors and vendors. Conduct contractor safety audits and performance reviews. Ensure safe execution of maintenance, installation, and project activities.
- Audits & Continuous Improvement: Conduct internal HSE audits and workplace inspections. Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Manage the Manpower, CAPEX and OPEX Budget for the Quality Function and HSE overall.
- Lead and Drive all Compliances related to ISO 9001, 45001 & 14001: Drive and ensure ISO systems guiding framework and implementation for all departments and functions.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES :
- B. Tech / Bachelor’s degree with a related diploma in Quality Engineering / Environmental Science / Safety Management or related field with minimum 15 Years of experience in Quality inc. HSE roles for passenger vehicle/ commercial vehicles, Earthmoving Equipment, Tractor, Agri Equipment, OEM or manufacturing environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), “Quality First” mindset, Cross-Functional Abilities, Deep Understanding of Manitou Quality Systems and External Benchmarks, Product Safety & User Protection, Zero-Harm Manufacturing (Internal Safety), Environmental Stewardship & Circularity, LOTO & Rigging Safety, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), Global Compliance Management
