GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Manitou Equipment America is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer who,
along with a project team, will assist in bringing the next generation of Gehl and
Manitou products produced in the USA to market.
As part of the Electrical & Systems Engineering team, the Electrical
Design Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and
validation of electrical systems in mobile machinery, providing technical
leadership to junior engineers, maintaining project schedules, and other program
related needs.
As part of Manitou’s global family, the Electrical Design Engineer will
work closely with international colleagues to stay aligned with company-wide
objectives for machine architecture and functionality, zero emissions, and
commonality among product lines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the electrical system design for new product development (NPD)
programs
Provide engineering support for current production (CPD) programs
Ensure adherence to all applicable standards and regulations (ISO, SAE,
etc.)
Assist in project planning (resources, timelines, etc.)
Develop test plans to validate accuracy of designs.
Evaluate test results to determine/coordinate appropriate issue
resolution
Independently troubleshoot issues as they arise during the development
cycle.
Develop electrical schematics and wire harness models/drawings
Create and process engineering change orders (ECOs)
Support the creation of machine documentation (schematics, manuals,
training, troubleshooting).
Work with field technicians and support services to investigate and
resolve customer concerns
Support prototype builds
Establish and maintain department/design best practices
Maintain the project schedule.
Proactively communicate with project team and management
Active participation in team meetings

 

EXPERIENCE:
1+ years experience

Areas of focus: mobile equipment, NPD, electrification, CAD

 

EXPERTISE:
Leading technical meetings with internal and/or external
representatives.
Strong problem analysis and solution skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Takes initiative, sense of ownership with a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to evaluate risk and make timely decisions.
Ability to interface with other departments in a collaborative manner.
Familiarity with Google Suite
Familiarity with VeSys, Capital Harness, Siemens NX and/or MATLAB is a
plus.
Fluency in French is a plus but is not required.

 

EDUCATION:
Bachelors in Agricultural or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

 

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:
Manufacturing, Sales and Service, Product Management, Purchasing,
Test Engineering, Technology Center (FR)
Suppliers, Customers

 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:
This position is located at our headquarters in West Bend, WI
Travel up to 10%
