GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Custodian position will safely perform Janitorial duties and/or simple maintenance operations throughout the entirety of the Manitou facility.  Such operations could include work both indoors and outdoors as needed. 

 

Available Shift – 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7a-3:30p 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a safe work environment

  • Work without close supervision.

  • Keeps buildings and property in clean and orderly condition.

  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuum floors.

  • Gathers and empties trash.

  • Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.

  • Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.

  • Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers..

  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

  • Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.

  • Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.

  • Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.

  • Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

  • Work with coworkers in a polite and courteous manner, providing cross training as needed.

  • Able to work overtime as required.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours

  • Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.

  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.

  • Ability to practice good communication skills.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights as needed.

 

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED.

 

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

  • Ability to work with others well and also with outside vendors / suppliers.

 

What does MANITOU Group offer? 

  • Base Pay Range between $20 – $22 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
    • Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location
  • This position is located in Madison, South Dakota and is an onsite position
  • There is no travel required for this position
