The Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant is a significant role for the organization to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly basis.  This role directly collaborates with the Controller to ensure accounting processes are functioning efficiently and accurately, and to investigate questions from executives concerning financial results.




  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for the Manitou Equipment America (MEA) entity following the Manitou Group Financial Guidelines.

  • Analyze key balance sheet accounts and prepare resulting journal entries.

  • Execute procedures to close Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subledgers for month end.

  • Maintain accounting set-up within our ERP System (IFS) and the relationships between IFS and the Group Consolidation Software (mapping IFS to Tagetik).

  • Complete assigned month end analysis of key accounting reserves (e.g. health insurance, legal, standard warranty, bad debt, benefit plans, LIFO, and others).

  • Complete Manitou America Holding (MAH) Consolidated US GAAP Financials on an annual basis.

  • Complete assigned month end journal entries to meet communicated financial reporting deadlines.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for other assigned accounts.

  • Evaluate the reasonableness of MEA monthly standard journal entries.

  • Contribute in preparation of the annual budget and forecasting.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.




Education & Experience, required:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in accounting/finance department.

  • CPA with public accounting experience.

  • Accounting – Experience with accounting concepts for both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  Familiarity with the differences between US GAAP and IFRS.

  • Experience with world recognized ERP systems and Consolidation software.

  • Organization – Ability to maintain accurate and detailed work product utilizing Excel and Google applications.

  • Attention to Detail – Ability to thoroughly analyze and identify outliers or errors in data sets.  Ability to produce high quality work with few or no errors.

  • Communication - Ability to communicate ideas and data in a persuasive and organized manner, including working with the Controller to prepare presentations for executive audiences.

  • Time Management – Ability to set priorities and meet/commit to strict deadlines in a changing environment.  Ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively.

  • Customer Service Orientation – Ability to gain the trust of leaders at both the local and parent entity levels by demonstrating command over your individual work product and an understanding of the business.

  • Analytical Skills – Ability to apply problem solving methods and analyses to address business questions.

  • Teamwork – Ability to foster good working relationships and contribute in a team environment.

  • Entrepreneurial – Ability to display “out of the box” thinking, seeking opportunities for efficiency and enhancements to existing processes.


Knowledge and Skills, preferred:

  • Previous experience in accounting for a company with a foreign parent company.
