Project Manager

General Accountability:

Project Management and coordination of NPD projects under the direction of the Executive Director of the PMO. Act as leader and collaborator. Perform Project Management activities on NPD projects by leading, influencing and coordinating cross functional teams through a defined NPD process. These activities include the development of project schedules, budgets and resource needs and other activities aligned with the PMBOK. The Project Manager must manage cost variances and schedule variances to a minimum throughout the execution of assigned Projects. Conduct Risk Management activities, and be prepared to gather and act upon Lessons Learned being pro-active to the needs of the Project.



  • Facilitate and coordinate project activities to achieve On Time, On Cost, On Quality Goals for each Project assigned.
  • The Project Manger shall collaborate and influence cross functional teams through the gated NPD process of assigned projects.
  • Generate a Project Plan for assigned Projects to include Schedule, Budget, Resource, Communications and Quality plans for approved and assigned NPD projects.
  • Occasionally present the status of assigned projects to the management teams.
  • Conduct Baseline and Re-Baseline activities of a Project and hold team members accountable for holding to a baseline.
  • Identify and guide project teams through decision making activities to assure products meet cost targets.
  • Monitor Project and Product costs to ensure projects remain profitable, and escalate issues when projects begin to show signs of non-profitability.
  • Creating preliminary product cost estimates in conjunction with accounting, sourcing, manufacturing and engineering.
  • Conduct team meetings and keep an accurate account of action items, Decisions made/needed and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ensure clear expectations are communicated for Actions items and Deliverables, and follow up with activity owners.
  • Manage the collection of project data for the NPD process gate approvals and release for production.
  • Support the cross functional team through coaching, counseling, planning and monitor the performance of project teams and individuals.
  • Travel both domestically and international may be required.



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • PMP/CAPM Certification is a plus.



  • Eight years of experience in Project Management, New Product Development, or Product Engineering with at least 2 years in a collaboration and influence roll managing without authority.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting team meetings and holding teams accountable for results.
  • Demonstrated experience with EVM, particularly SPI and CPI Measures a plus.
  • Experience of Scope/Change Management Process strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Agile Boards for task tracking (i.e Trello) preferred.
  • Experience/Knowledge of the construction Equipment Industry is a plus.



  • Demonstrated experience in project management preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of implementation practices of the PMBOK 6th Ed. 10 Knowledge areas.
  • Knowledge and understanding of an Agile Management Methodology.
  • High Proficiency level in the use of MS Project.
  • Proficient and confident giving presentations and status updates to senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suit.

  • This position is located in West Bend
  • 20% travel domestic and international may be require.
