Logistics Coordinator

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting directly to the International Logistics and Traffic Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for effectively coordinating day-to-day logistics activity, processing freight invoices through a 3rd party freight audit and payment company, and support regular projects, just to name a few.  Must be able to manage supplier’s orders to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services that meet all quality requirements at the best possible cost/value. Will be a self-directed Associate who is able to set priorities to achieve desired results, communicate issues effectively throughout the organization to build consensus, and work independently as well as collaboratively.  Candidate will need to be able to work across all disciplines within the organization to answer questions and resolve issues that arise throughout the supply chain in a timely manner. Must have outstanding analytical, written, verbal communication skills and maintain a high level of professionalism.

           

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Schedule carriers to pick up and deliver shipments for truckload, LTL and small pack shipments.
  • Enter shipment information into a TMS (transportation management system) to book loads
  • Complete paperwork such as, bill of lading, packing list, and commercial invoices.
  • Support/organize shipments for trade shows throughout the year.
  • File freight claims and maintain a centralized freight claims database for all sites.
  • Process freight invoices through a 3rd party freight audit and payment company.
  • Collaborate with freight providers daily.
  • Apply general ledger accounts to freight invoices.
  • Maintain a predetermined KPI regarding freight provider billing cycles.
  • Support regular projects linked to the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Support Logistic activities such as, trade compliance, optimization (milk runs), import/export quotes, tracking, and Shipping/Receiving.  
  • Maintain freight calculations in IFS (ERP) for outbound whole good shipment.
  • Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, procedures, reports and metrics to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communications with departments throughout the organization in order to perform primary responsibilities.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree; concentration in Logistics/Supply Chain or Operations Management is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as an individual contributor in Logistics. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; with strong networking, influencing, and communication skills; and to drive effective project execution.
  • Understanding of Traffic/Logistics practices/procedures.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, i.e., warehouse and assembly operations is preferred.
  • Must have exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise good judgment; must be self-motivated and have initiative.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing needs and positively promote organizational objectives.
  • Sound administrative skills, well-developed time management skills.
  • An understanding of accounting general ledger codes.
  • Team player who can successfully interact with internal and external organizations and effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a timely manner to ensure positive results.
  • IFS experience or working knowledge of other ERP systems.
  • TMS (transportation management system) experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Sheets a plus.
