Job Description



Reporting to the Sales Administration, Workshop and Logistics Manager of the Manitou UK subsidiary. The Mobile workshop technician will be a member of a dynamic team of engineers that are tasked with preparing machinery for our valued dealers and customers.

      The successful candidate must be agile and be able to carry out a task using his / her knowledge of the product along with the technical tools and information provided. The position will be primarily based at Manitou UK headquarters however the applicant must be nationally mobile and be able to travel to carry out a specific task at any location throughout the United Kingdom and Southern Ireland if required.

      The candidate must show great versatility by combining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic knowledge. The candidate will be expected to represent the Manitou Group in a professional manner when communicating with members of our internal staff, our dealer network and any direct customer.


Main Responsibilities:

  • To apply their knowledge to complete any task given to the best of their ability and within the Manitou Group guidelines.
  • To be able to complete any task given by the Workshop Supervisor and meet the deadline set.
  • To support Manitou UK Sales / After-sales and marketing departments when requested.
  • To interact with and be an important part of the Workshop team at Manitou UK who endeavour to achieve the targets set by senior management.


Key Skills:

  • Knowledge in the capital equipment market, specifically with mechanics, hydraulics, power and electrical systems,
  • Experience with the repair and maintenance of Construction, Agricultural, Industrial and Aerial work platforms is required.
  • Ability to carry out time critical tasks in a professional manner.
  • Ability to problem solve and react to different situations effectively.
  • The candidate must be computer literate.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication.
  • The candidate must be motivated and driven to enable them to multitask and maintain the high level of accuracy expected.
  • The candidate must be able to manage his / her time effectively.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.


Beneficial Specific Knowledge / Skills:

Trained in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent to NVQ level 2

Qualification in F-Gas use
